1966 and beyond. Books and documents from the University of Florence recovered from the flood

The bibliographic and documentary exhibition, curated by Concetta Bianca and Francesco Salvestrini, is organized by the Documentation Centre on Florence Floods (CEDAF) in collaboration with the five Libraries and the Historical Archive of the University.

The inauguration will be held on Wednesday 6 November at 4:00 pm in the Sala Comparetti of the Humanities Library, piazza Brunelleschi 4 - Florence.

The exhibition illustrates, through books, documents and photographs, the damage inflicted on the book and documentary heritage of the University of Florence by the flood of 1966 and their subsequent recovery, contributing to the knowledge of what happened in that tragic moment and of what was the action of all those who collaborated to limit and repair the damage suffered.

The exhibition will be set up in the Humanities Library's Reception Room
and can be visited freely from November 6th to December 20th 2024
at the following times: Monday-Friday 8:30-19:00, Saturday 8:30-13:30.
