In most of the University Libraries (see which ones) you can scan documents (magazine articles, book parts, handouts, etc.) through the BiblioScan service, activated in collaboration with the Area for Innovation and Management of Information and Information Systems.
Please note that it is necessary to comply with current legislation on copyright (Law 22 April 1941, n. 633 and subsequent amendments), which allows you to reproduce no more than 15% of a work.
The system uses PaperCut, multi-platform software distributed in agreement with the Tuscany Region that allows you to manage printers, multifunction and network scanners, provided by the company TT Tecnosistemi complete with service and warranty.
It is free and self-service and its functioning is quick and easy: once you have accessed the scanner by entering an identification code recovered from your personal area PaperCut or with student card thanks to the RFID reader integrated in the devices - mode at the time reserved for students Unifi - you can send and save in a USB stick or on your Google Drive Unifi the scanned documents files in PDF format or in graphic format (jpg/tiff, option available only on pen drive).
It is also eco-sustainable, in line with the University’s strategic objectives: without the use of paper and toner you can contribute to safeguarding the environment.
The service can be used by all institutional users and authorized external users:
