European Dialogues

In-depth meetings on Europe

European Dialogues

From Thursday, 14 November 2024, the ‘European Dialogues’ cycle of appointments is scheduled, a series of meetings dedicated to in-depth analysis and discussion on topical issues of European relevance at the Parc Bistrò di Firenze (Piazzale delle Cascine).

Each meeting is divided into two sessions: after the intervention of experts, participants can share their opinions in a structured discussion based on the world café method: an informal chat accompanied by coffee and cakes.

This is the programme of the meetings:

  • On Thursday 14 November 2024, at 5.45 p.m., ‘Documents please! Rights and citizenship between Italy and Europe'. Benedicta Djumpah (Italians without citizenship) and Margherita Hu (EUI researcher, Ponte Europa) will discuss the issue of citizenship, between Italy and Europe: why it is an issue that affects so many people, especially young people, and what are the rights related to it.
  • On Thursday 28 November 2024, at 5.45 p.m., the topic addressed is psychological well-being with ‘Ma siamo tutti/i matte/i? Europe, young people and mental health'.
  • On Thursday, 12 December 2024, at 5.45 p.m., the topic of youth participation is addressed. After an in-depth look at the opportunities offered by the EU to young people (and there are many!), Carlo Andorlini (University of Florence) accompanies participants in a reflection on why it makes sense to actively participate in society.

Participation is free, but for organisational reasons it is necessary to register by filling in the appropriate form.

The project is realised by Le Discipline and EUROPE DIRECT Florence together with the European Documentation Centre and the Jean Monnet Centre of the University of Florence, European Documentation Centre of the European University Institute, Ponte Europa, within the framework of the Festival of Rights 2024.
