Teacher Maria Maltoni (Dovadola 1890 - Pontassieve 1964) is known for her innovative teaching approach approccio didattico, put into practice between 1920 and 1956 in the hamlet of San Gersolè (Impruneta). It was a method based on observing nature and reporting meticulously all the experiences that the children lived in their daily lives.
The publishing house has also produced a short documentary that collects interviews and photographic material and will be presented on the sidelines of the exhibition.
This event is part of a series of initiatives dedicated to the teacher Maltoni that the publishing house Florence Art Edizioni and Studio Giambo Arte Lingua e Cultura Aps (Florence) have organized during 2024.
